Here’s the registration process:

1. Install or update the app from the Play Store and open it.
2. Grant the necessary permissions, such as location and phone call management.
3. Select the SIM card linked to your registered mobile number (RMN) and allow SMS permissions. Then, proceed to the next step.
4. An encrypted SMS containing a unique code will be sent from your device to a specific number for verification. Note that standard SMS charges may apply according to your telecom plan. Make sure your SIM card can send outgoing SMS. Some devices may require allowing the SMS from the outbox.
5. If your mobile number is linked to multiple customer identification files (CIFs), you’ll need to provide the account number and date of birth to find your unique customer profile.
6. If you already have online banking with SBI, the app will prompt you to proceed with YONO registration using your existing user credentials (Online Banking User ID and Password). After entering the required information, you’ll receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP in the app to complete the registration process, and you can optionally set an MPIN.
7. If you don’t have online banking credentials, the app will guide you through creating them using your “Account Details” and “ATM Card” in the registration process.
8. If you select a non-registered mobile number SIM, you’ll be directed to the account opening screen. If you claim that the selected SIM is already registered with the bank, you’ll need to visit the nearest branch with KYC documents to update or validate your mobile number in your bank account.
